Meet the Crew of Sailing Oriens
Ahoy! We’re Gustav and Emmy, a passionate sailing duo from Stockholm, Sweden. Having grown up surrounded by the archipelago’s serene waters, boats have been an integral part of our lives since childhood. Our shared love for the sea and adventure led us to embark on this incredible journey aboard our sailboat, Oriens.
Our Journey
From navigating the intricate waterways of the Baltic Sea to exploring distant horizons, sailing has always been more than a hobby—it’s a way of life. Oriens isn’t just our vessel; it’s our home. Together, we’ve faced the challenges of the open sea, enjoyed secluded anchorages, and embraced the diverse cultures we’ve encountered along the way.
Why “Oriens”?
The name “Oriens” is inspired by the Latin word for “rising” or “east,” symbolizing new beginnings and the promise of each day’s first light. It reflects our philosophy of embracing the unknown, seeking growth, and finding beauty in every sunrise over the horizon.
